Gvarular suspension

500 sq. The Kavkasion power transmission line, which connects the energy systems of Georgia and Russia, is a unique structure, its track passes through the most difficult terrain conditions and crosses many avalanche and landslide-prone zones, which are located on the northern and southern slopes of the main Caucasus range.

As a result of long-term observations and analysis of accumulated materials, it was determined that the sections located on these slopes in the valleys of the Makhar and Klich rivers are the most unreliable areas for the operation of the Kavkasioni power line. These 20-kilometer sections of the line have suffered a number of serious damages (masts falling, wires breaking, etc.) due to the effects of natural factors (avalanches, landslides, ice cover, etc.) from the time they were put into operation.

First Deputy General Director of JSC “Sakrusenergo” According to Maisuradze’s proposal, to avoid the mentioned injuries and 500 sq. In order to increase the reliability of the Kavkasioni high-voltage power transmission line, a decision was made, in the valley of the Klich River, in some areas of the southern slopes of the main Caucasus ridge, in particular, all three supports of mast No. 224 and one support of mast No. 225 (in March 2005, fell as a result of the impact of the avalanche), instead of metal poles, the method of hanging on the rope was used.

The development of the gvarlur suspension option provided for the construction of a special “rope bridge” on the Klich River valley at a fairly high point and the hanging of overhead line wires on it, instead of mast No. 224, which was completely taken away by snow avalanches, as well as other No. 215, No. 220, No. 222, No. 223, located in avalanche zones. No. 225 of metal towers. This was dictated by the need to avoid the mechanical impact of avalanches on the masts and cables in the considered areas of the overhead line and, as a result, by increasing the reliability of the overhead line.

The cable suspension consists of a system of 21 mm diameter steel cables stretched parallel between the two banks of the Klich River, fastened with end caps to anchor slabs, these slabs are set on 2.6-3 meter long ground anchor bolts, which are anchored and concreted 93 mm. in diameter anchor bolts. 6.5m is set as the axis of the E.G.K. 3 traverses in length, hanging V-shaped garlands of individual phase wires.

The cable suspension consists of cables 1000 meters long, which are connected to each other by means of line cords, in which a babbit of the B83 brand is embedded. The traverse is made of No. 20 steel angle. The anchor plate of the welded construction is made of rolled steel: No. 30 and No. 16 with channels and a sheet roll of 10-20 mm. within the thickness. The steel anchor bolt is 56mm in diameter. and 2.7-3 m long. Steel wedges are made of 80 mm. From thick-walled steel pipes. 88-90 mm. A thick-walled steel tube is made of a cast iron.

For the first time in Georgia, the design and construction of the facility related to the suspension of 500kV overhead line wires was carried out simultaneously, which was associated with special difficulties and responsibilities, which in turn was determined by the climatic conditions (summer and partially spring periods – a total of 4-5 months), necessary for the restoration of the damaged area of the line Due to extremely tight deadlines and other circumstances.

In 2005, the restoration construction and repair works in the area of the damaged No. 224 mast of the overhead line were mostly completed. The line is in operation and there have been no comments regarding the reliability of the work of the mentioned area. From 2006, the design and preparatory work continued for reconstruction measures in the rest of the avalanche-prone areas, which lasted until 2007 and was already carried out with a different scheme on mast No. 220.

The right and middle posts of corner-anchor mast No. 220 and the wires of phases A and B connected to them are located in the avalanche zone. The probability of their damage was high, which is confirmed by the fact that there were two cases of damage due to the impact of avalanches in the past. In order to ensure the hopefulness of the mentioned area, we have planned to carry out a number of measures, the most important of which is to fasten the cables without masts – through special stretching garlands, by attaching them directly to the rock.

The mentioned project is unique in itself, as well as the so-called successfully implemented in 2005. “Gural hanging”.

On the basis of topogodesic and geological data, it was determined that each phase of the E.G.Kh should be attached to the rock at a height of 85 and 95 meters, respectively, from the surface of the road passing by the support No. 220. On the basis of the geological data of the physical-mechanical properties of the rock and the electronic parameters of the E.G.K., the labor-technical documentation of the construction part of the project was processed, in particular, each phase is attached to the rock by means of 4-4 anchors. Anchors with a diameter of 56 mm are inserted into the rock

Drilling is carried out by pre-drilling the treated rock surface in 93 mm diameter holes in the rock, using mechanical force and then finally cementing with cement mortar.

The work on mast #220 was completed in September 2007, and in this area too, the possibility of line damage due to avalanches and the possibility of emergency shutdown due to the influence of generated air waves was practically minimized.

In avalanche zones, e. In order to ensure the reliable operation of transmission lines, various measures have been used so far, the implementation of which is associated with significant capital investments and technical difficulties. It should be noted that their work is practically ineffective and cannot ensure the safe operation of lines.

The cable suspension options of the line were performed for the first time and are unique structures. The past period has shown us that it has no alternative

Therefore, its widespread introduction and use brings a great technical and economic effect.
