500 sq m "Mukhran Valley"

500 kV power plant “Mukhrani Valley” is a power transmission line connecting the energy systems of Georgia and Azerbaijan, which consists of the section between towers N1-N36/1 of the existing 500 kV power plant “Mukhrani” on the territory of Georgia (9.8 km, owned by JSC “Sakrusenergo”) and newly From the constructed section from the tower N36/1 of the former “Mukhrani” to the station “Gardabani-500” (9.7 km, owned by the State Electricity System of Georgia).

The power transmission line was put into operation in 2016 and connects substations “Gardabani-500” and “Samukh” (Azerbaijan). It crosses the Georgia-Azerbaijani border in the vicinity of the Red Bridge. The marginal load of the “Mukhran Valley” is 700 MW, and its length is 182.3 km. It is equipped with a modern optical fiber cable.
The reliability and sustainability of the energy system of Georgia has significantly increased with the mentioned power transmission line. Also, the volume of electricity exchange with Azerbaijan and neighboring countries.
It should be noted that until 2011, the section between the N1-N36 towers of the 500 kV “Mukhrani Valley” was completely looted, and for its restoration, it was necessary to purchase several metal towers and a large number of complementary materials and equipment.
